I often text my workmates, receive files, and save them on your iPhone while commuting. Sometimes I have no time backing up my data to my computer. Recently, I found some important iMessages disappeared! I even don’t know why. I’m looking for ways to recover deleted iMessages.
iPhone Data Recovery offers three modes of recovery to deal with the situations. You can retrieve deleted iMessages directly from iPhone or retrieve previous data by extracting iTunes/iCloud backup.
Download the free trial version below to have a try!
Step 1: Connect iPhone to computer & Scan data
Download and install the software, and run it on your computer. Then connect your iPhone to your computer. After your device is connected, click “Recover” in the window.
Note: If you are using iPhone 4/3GS/3G, you can choose “Advanced Mode” to get a deeper scan.
Step 2: Preview & Selectively restore iMessages
When the scanning process is done, all the data on your iPhone will be extracted and displays in the below window. Look at the left pane of the window, the program provides a compact display of category options for users to find organized content. Preview iMessages content, and then tick items you need and retrieve them by clicking “Recover”.
Note: In order to easily find your lost data, you can slide the button at the top of the window to only display deleted items.
If you have used iTunes on the PC or Mac and synced over to your iPhone your iMessages, you can recover data from iTunes backup. There are two ways for you: directly recover an entire iTunes file or selectively extract data from iTunes backup by using the software.
Restoring data via iTunes is free of charge. But it’s worth noting that all data in iTunes will be poured into your iPhone and your existing data on your iPhone will be erased or overwritten. In comparison, using iPhone Data Recovery to retrieve data will be safer because it supports selective recovery and no data on your iPhone will be overwritten.
Here’s the tutorial about how to use this software to extract data from iTunes backup file.
Step1: Choose a recovery mode & Scan iTunes for data
After installing and launching the program, you’ll be offered some recovery modes for choices. Choose “Recover”. Now there would be several iTunes backup files listing in the window. Choose the one for your iPhone and click “Start Scan” to scan the backup file and extract all the data including the missing ones.
Step2: Preview & Recover deleted iMessages
Now you can see all the contents of your iPhone listed in the window. Choose “iMessages” from the category options in the left pane of the window, preview and recover your deleted notes.
To recover lost iMessages from iCloud, you need to backup your existing data on your iPhone first because by using this way, all data in iCloud files will be imported into your iPhone. It’s quite inconvenient to recover all data including something useless. Therefore, to selectively recover lost data, iPhone Data Recovery is worth trying.
Here’s the tutorial about how to use this software to retrieve iMessages from iCloud backup.
Step 1. Run the program & log in your iCloud account
Launch the data recovery program on your computer and switch to the recovery mode of “Recover” from the main menu bar. Then enter Apple ID and password to sign in your iCloud.
