Pokémon Go Shiny Eevee Evolutions in 2023

Hi there, and welcome again to one of my guides. Today is exceptional because I will walk you through everything you need to know about Pokémon Go Shiny Eevee Evolutions.

Being a Pokémon Go die-hard fan, I understand that intense urge to snag every cute Eevee available and create awe-inspiring evolutions.

Even in the Pokémon Go community, the foremost question on everyone’s mind is how to evolve Eevee into several Eeveelutions, like Leafeon, Glaceon, Espeon, Umbreon, Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon.

Five of these Eeveelutions were available before now, excluding Glaceon and Leafeon, which later came into the scene in Gen 4. Shiny hunting might be challenging for you.

Don’t beat yourself too hard. You are at the right place, as this guide will help you to navigate this ‘seemingly’ complex Pokémon Go world and create more shiny Eevees.

Part 1. All Shiny Eevee Evolutions in Pokémon Go

Undoubtedly, one notable Pokémon on everyone’s lips is Eevee. Introduced in 2008, this Pokémon has several evolutions. Presently, Sylveon, an Eeveelution, is one evolution yet to hit the community.

You are forgiven if you didn’t play this fantastic game back then. But kindly note that to create an evolution, you need specific amounts of shiny Eevee. In actuality, you may need about seven to eight to create a Sylveon Eeveelution. And if you are new to the Pokémon evolution, there is no need to worry as I walk you through this fantastic concept-turned-reality.

With Pokémon evolution, you can evolve one Pokémon into another variant. So, let’s say that you have Pikachu, which most people are familiar with; you can evolve it to Raichu, using a Thunderstone. Fire Stone evolves Vulpix into Ninetales, while Moon Stone evolves Clefairy into Clefable.

Not every Pokémon can evolve, as some of them do not have evolutionary forms. Take Rhydon (a Pokémon original), for example; it can evolve into Rhyperior, but this evolution is not yet available. This guide isn’t about those guys; it is Eevee’s Day.

Here is a list of Eeveelutions you can add to your collections. I have ranked them from top to bottom.

Shiny Vaporeon

Being a Gen 1 Pokémon and an Original Eeveelution first located in the Kanto region, Vaporean comes with a max CP of 3157. Although not the best, compared to some Eeveelutions, it ranks number one on the list when considering all factors, including its fascinating magenta appearance. Vaporeon is a water type and is weak against the grass and electric types. Vaporeon moves increase when it rains, with Hydro Pump being the strongest and most potent.

Shiny Glaceon

One of the latest Eeveelutions introduced to Pokémon Go is Glaceon. This Ice-type Pokémon, located in the Sinnoh region, comes with a max CP of 3126, which puts it a little below Espeon. But fasten your seatbelts as new features and rarity earn it a slightly higher ranking again. Here is a breakdown of its capacity: Max defense (205), max attack (238), and max stamina (163). Glaceon’s weaknesses include rock, steel, fighting, and fire types.

Shiny Espeon

Espeon, a Gen 2 Pokémon, comes with eye-catching, elegant aesthetics that beats other Eevee evolutions hands down. When comparing a shiny Espeon to the original version, there is a glaring dissimilarity. The former sports a bright green color, while the latter features a light pink color.

As strange as this may seem, the Johto region-based shiny variant is potent and has a max CP of 3170. Its max stamina is also pegged at 163, while its max defense and attack sit at 175 and 261, respectively. It comes with enhanced moves in windy environments.

Shiny Leafeon

Leafeon is a new Gen 4 Eeveelution from the Sinnoh region. The grass-type Eeveelution features a max CP of 2944. Although this spec places Leafeon below the likes of Flareon, it is still understandable to give this Eeveelution a commendation as it is relatively new to the game. It shares a similar appearance with the original, with its lighter colors making the difference. You can increase its attacks (max attack pegged at 216) by exposing it to a sunny environment.

Shiny Flareon

This fire-type Eeveelution came into the scene alongside Vaporeon and Jolteon. It sports a max CP of 3209, making it the first version to cross the 3000-CP benchmark. The Gen 1 Eeveelution’s attack and defense max are 246 and 179, respectively. Its moves are enhanced by sunny weather. Compared to the original, the shiny variant has a toned-down gold or tan color, ironic for its type.

Shiny Jolteon

This electric-type Eeveelution comes with a max CP of 2888 – max defense of 182 and stamina of 163. It would help if you had all the Eevee candies you can get to collect all the variants. The shiny variant has a muted green color as opposed to the original version’s bright yellow-gold color. It isn’t the best aesthetics you will see, though, but still worth the collection. Its powers exceed that of Umbreon.

Shiny Umbreon

Umbreon might be the most excellent Eeveelution present. However, it has minor powers, only capped at 2137 (CP). It spots blue markings in yellow or gold, which endears the dark type variant to several Pokémon Go fans. It has a max attack of 126, max defense of 240, and max stamina of 216.

Part 2. How to Evolve Eevee in Pokémon Go

One of your challenges playing Pokémon Go might be how to create an Eeveelution variant. I will show you how to do that in this section.

Evolving Eevee into Vaporeon

As discussed before, Vaporeon is a water type, which makes it stronger than ground and rock types. This Eeveelution sits at #134 in the Pokedex. For some Pokémon Go players, catching this variant in the wild can be extremely challenging. But why do that when you can evolve your Eevee using 25 candies? Such candies can also fetch you a Flareon or Jolteon.

But if you are particular about ‘catching’ a Vaporeon, then guarantee your choice variant by renaming it with the name cheat “Rainer” before commencing your adventure. After the evolution, rename it to Vaporeon. Pokémon Go makes it attractive for players to rename their variants several times.

Evolving Eevee into Jolteon

Jolteon comes at number #135. Its evolution process is no different from that of Vaporeon. Own a Jolteon variant with 25 Eevee candies. But that is not the only way. You can evolve your Eevee into this Eeveelution by renaming it “Sparky,” which is if you don’t have to spend fruitless hours in the wild hunting for this lightning type. Kindly note that the name cheat is effective only once for each evolution.

Evolving Eevee into Flareon

Flareon is a fire-type Eeveelution that occupies the 136th spot in the Pokedex. Being the third of the original Eeveelutions, this Pokémon steps up when combating bug and grass types. You need 25 Eevee candies to evolve this variant. Lock in your Eeveelution by renaming it “Pyro.” Here is what to do to get the candies.

Add an Eeveelution as your buddy and switch on Adventure Sync. As you move around with your smartphone, you earn candies, even with the app closed. But if you prefer a heart-panting adventure, then venture into the wild. Your chance of catching one is one in three attempts.

Evolving Eevee into Espeon

Espeon, a psychic-type variant, sits at #196 in the Pokedex. It is ideal for combating poison and fighting types. Like some of the Eeveelutions on the list, it requires 25 Eevee candies. Another option is to take your Eevee for a walk as a buddy, covering 10km. Once done, evolve it when it is daytime. Lock your Eeveelution by renaming it with “Sakura” before evolving.

And even if you don’t want to do that at the moment, Pokémon Go will require you to do so over time, under the particular research quest – A Ripple in Time. So, you can retain your candies for this particular moment. As a note, avoid switching buddy Pokémon while walking your buddy.

Evolving Eevee into Umbreon

Umbreon, a dark-type variant, sits at #197 and combats the ghost and psychic types. To evolve your Eevee into this variant, rename it with the name cheat “Tamao” before evolution. Just like Espeon, you can evolve your Eevee under a particular quest – A Ripple in Time. Walk your Eevee as your buddy for 10km before evolving it using 25 candies. The only difference between both evolutions is that you have to evolve your would-be Umbreon at night.

Evolving Eevee into Leafeon

Leafeon occupies 470th in the Pokedex. The grass type is a strong contender against the ground, water, and rock types. You need 25 Eevee candies to evolve this Pokémon. But before that, rename it with the cheat name “Linnea.” If you want a different approach, visit the Pokémon Go Store and buy a Mossy Lure Module. However, you need 200 coins. Place the coins in a Poke Stop. Once done, evolve the Eevee as you draw closer to it.

Evolving Eevee into Glaceon

After Leafeon comes to Glaceon in the Pokedex, sitting at #471. The ice type combats the likes of flying, dragon, ground, and grass types. Rename your Eevee with “Rea” and evolve it with 25 candies. Like Leafeon, another alternative is to purchase a particular lure module and place it in a Poke Stop and evolve, but this time implement the Glacial Lure Module.
